In the vibrant city of Austin in the late 90s, two dynamic individuals, Darren Peterson and Scott Finley, crossed paths, setting the stage for an extraordinary journey. Scott, a rising star in the salon world, and Darren, a Computer Science and Business Management student, formed an instant and lasting friendship. Despite their divergent career paths—Scott evolving into a salon owner in Lakeway, Texas, and Darren managing offshore developers for Dell—their shared dream of creating a business together never waned.

Fueling their excitement, Scott presented Darren with a vision: to revolutionize the traditional American barbershop. They envisioned a space that seamlessly melded timeless barbering traditions with top-notch products and unparalleled service. Drawing from their rich backgrounds in the restaurant industry, where customer service was paramount, they saw this as the golden opportunity they had been waiting for. Scott’s expertise in hair and Darren’s business acumen, combined with a passion for personal grooming, laid the foundation for the Finley’s Barber Shop concept.

As architects of Finley’s, Darren and Scott placed a spotlight on men’s needs and desires, crafting an experience that goes beyond the ordinary.  According to Darren, “Guys have come to appreciate the personal service…the hot towels, the scalp massage, the aromatherapy, and the camaraderie.
